Below - Where can I go by train from Melksham?

From your home or business in Melksham

Melksham Station is situated on Station Approach - just off the A365 Bath Road to the north of the town, a few yards from where it splits from the A350 Beanacre and Chippenham Road. See it on Google Maps

Postal Address - Car park and (future) cafe
Melksham Hub, Station Approach, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 8BN - link - hub web site
Latitude 51.37987, Longitude -2.14408 / ST 90069 64545 / drivers.fury.bleaker

Postal Address - Station
Melksham Station, Station Road, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 8BN - link - National Rail
Latitude 51.38004, Longitude -2.14455 / ST 90036 64564 / sensibly.mend.adjust

Sat-Nav users beware - The Hub postcode is shared with businesses such as TMR Contact Services who are on the opposite side of the railway, and there is no footbridge. The Station postcode quoted by National Rail is for the houses at the top of Station Approach and is probably the safer to use - you'll see both the station and hub as you turn in to Station Approach.

The Latitude / Longitude, OS Grid Reference and What Three Words locations after each address above take you to the Cafe, and to the platform at the station.

If you drive your car to the station, there is car parking in a dedicated car park for rail users on the right hand side of the approach road. This car parking is provided by the TransWilts CIC and detailed on their Hub website. It is operated by Smart Parking Ltd. We have mirrored car park details here. "Blue Badge" parking is available beside the station gate, as are short term / pick up and drop off spaces.

If you cycle to the station, take the old Bath Road from the town centre and use the underpass under the A350 to get to the station clear of trunk road traffic. Covered cycle parking is available on the platform, or you can take your cycle on the train at no extra charge.

The station is a walk of just under 10 minutes from the Town Bridge - follow the old Bath Road past Cooper Tires, go through the underpass under the Chippenham Road, and fork right down to the station

Buses on routes 271, 272, 273, 68 and 69 pass the top of Station Approach, stopping about 100 yards beyond the station at Roundponds

Taxis can be taken to the station, and if you get a lift there is plenty of drop-off space. If you are returning to Melksham and want a taxi, we advise you to prebook. We keep an up to date list of taxi number at http://melksh.am/taxi from where you can dial if you visit the page on a phone.
